Go PHP 9 means run clean on 8.x now.

No crystal ball required.

The accepted changes here already produce warnings or deprecations on PHP 8. You can find them, fix them and test them before a PHP 9 release is scheduled. A clean log is a useful start, not a promise of compatibility with every future change.

A few honest answers

About that
release date.

When does PHP 9 come out?

No date has been announced. PHP 8.6 is the next scheduled release. Keep an eye on the official schedule and RFC index.

Is this an official PHP project?

No. Go PHP 9 is an independent readiness guide, inspired by the community's earlier upgrade pushes. The PHP project decides what ships.

Does seven out of seven mean I'm compatible?

No. This meter covers seven accepted changes, not the whole language or your dependencies. Test the app and keep following the RFCs.
